International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) involves using practical “every day carry” equipment (as opposed to competition only equipment) with fully charged ammunition to defend oneself against simulated “self defense” scenarios. The main goal is to test the individual participant’s skill and ability using practical handguns and holsters.
Many of you may have taken a handgun defensive course and don’t practice the skills you were taught. Remember, all skills are perishable. IDPA is an excellent platform to maintain your defensive skills on a monthly basis. You are encouraged to watch the match and learn before you try.
We typically set up 6 stages. Every month is a different defensive scenario. Each stage may require anywhere from 12 to 18 rounds. There will be movement thru the challenging “course of fire” such as: barricades, windows, doors and moving targets.
Our matches are held on the third Saturday of every month at the pistol ranges.
The fee schedules are as follows:
Members – $17.00
Non-Members: – $22.00
17 years old and under – $11.00.
Please bring at least 120 rounds.
